To our United Karaoke performers and supporters, whether you have traveled in or are local to D.C., we are so excited and honored that you are here joining us for our inaugural United Karaoke National Championship. This is a historic moment for our community, and we hope this is just the beginning of many more moments to celebrate together.

FAQ for Performers

Will there be a live stream of Finals?

Yes! We will be hosting a live stream of Finals and tickets for this can be purchased here via the same audience Eventbrite. Live stream is an option when you go to purchase a ticket. People who purchase tickets will receive an email with the link to the live stream on Saturday prior to the event. They will only be able to access the live stream by signing in with the email that they bought the ticket with. Those who have purchased a live stream ticket will also have voting privileges during Finals.

When can we pick up our badges?

Performers can pick up their all-access badges at any event during Nationals October 3-5th. We will have a check-in table at each event with United Karaoke staff who will have badges for all registered performers and supporters.

Will we be doing team chants?

Yes! Most of our cities do team chants but if you are not familiar please prepare a team chant as a call and response to whenever your team name is called throughout the week. For example we say “team Cookie Monsters”. You say “Nom Nom Nom”!

How many microphones will be available?

We will have 4 mics available at each event. We will also have 1 mic stand.

What if we have song cues or want to change key for our song?

Please let us know in advance of any song cues, key changes, etc. Also your team captain is responsible for checking in with the KJ right before your performance to confirm that all settings and cues are correct.

What is the Cardboard Nonsense/Costume Exchange Event all about?

For our non local friends, traveling with large cardboard signs and props is difficult. So we are utilizing the space of one of our non-profit partners Project Create DC to create what we call “cardboard nonsense”. We will provide cardboard, poster board and supplies. If you are a D.C. local and you have additional art supplies, cardboard or pasteboard you would be willing to contribute, please bring them! It would be much appreciated. This is also a costume exchange. Do you have old costumes from former performances? Bring those too and see if someone would want to swap costumes with you to use in a future league performance.

How will order be decided?

We have randomized the order for for both rounds of Semi-Finals. Below is the order:

For Finals, order will be based on your seed. The higher-ranked seed in each matchup will get to pick if they go first or second.
